Thembinkosi Ngcobo pleaded guilty in the Durban High Court on Friday.
Thirty-four-year old Ntombifuthi Blose and two-year-old daughter, Swelihle where attacked with a bushknife at his home in Phoenix in October last year.
In Ngcobo s plea statement read out in court, he says that he began dating Blose in 2016 and a year later, she gave birth to Swelihle, whom he believed was his child.
He says in September last year, Blose decided to move in with him.
Tammy Taylor Moffett, 53, was arrested by police after her daughter, Malikah Diane Bennett, 31, was charged three days earlier with killing her 4-year-old.
